The vital four minerals... Calcium, Phosphorous, Magnesium and Sodium, blended in with the beneficial attractants of Deer co-Cain, to supply deer with a complete mineral supplement in a form they love to eat. Rack-Up is coated with molasses and fruit flavoring to increase the rate of mineral consumption.

Recommendations...
Increase the Size of your Bucks - Most deer researchers agree that age, diet and genetics determine the size of the average deer rack... with that information, you can make choices that will impact the quality of deer on your properties. Age - We wholly support the selective harvesting of mature bucks, at least 4 years of age. By doing this, you will dramatically increase your chance of harvesting a true trophy buck in just a few short years. Genetics - We realize that the actual genetics of the deer herd on your property cannot normally be changed without outside help. Therefore, we recommend letting the largest young bucks grow to maturity... allowing them to distribute their superior genes to the herd. Diet - This is where we can almost immediately impact your deer herd. Everyone is interested in increasing rack size, and what a deer eats will in large part determine how big your racks can grow. Two major factors regarding the diet of deer are adequate protein and minerals.
|
 |
| Protein in the diet can be supplemented through the planting of year round food plots and by using supplemental feeder stations during high stress months. We recommend planting Harvest Food Plots during the Spring, late Summer and Fall to establish a source of protein that will be available to your deer herd year-round. Minerals play a unique role in animal nutrition and cannot be replaced by anything else. Bucks require an abundant supply of minerals due, in part, to their yearly shedding and regrowth of antlers. Every year, your bucks have a new opportunity to develop larger racks. If a buck is able to store enough calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and other minerals, he will then have an excellent opportunity to create a true trophy rack. |

Once you have selected your site, remove all vegetation from the chosen site area approximately 4 feet in diameter. Once the ground is cleared, rake the soil to loosen and make a slight depression in the site so that it will hold some rainfall, making runoff less likely. Spread the entire contents of this bag (6 lbs) over the site area. Do not cover the minerals. If you want immediate deer action on the site, wet down the site with a gallon of water after applying Rack-Up.
Reapplication: To keep the supplement site active once deer have begun consuming the Rack-Up, you will need to reapply every 3 months. Also, use Rack-Up in your active Deer Cane sites to boost the beneficial minerals available in those sites throughout the year.

 |
| Site Selection Tips: Picking the right spot to make a supplemental site is very important. Deer instinctively want to conceal themselves from predators; therefore, we recommend finding a shaded area on the edge of a deer crossing where deer normally conceal themselves. Choose a site at least 10’ off of normally active deer trails. Keep in mind that heavier clay type soils will hold the minerals for a longer period of time, whereas the sandier soils tend to let the minerals leach out a little sooner. When possible, make supplemental sites near an available water source. |

Deer consume different quantities of minerals during each season. By instinct, they continue to pattern themselves around mineral sources that they depend on to supply them with the minerals that they need throughout the year. Look at the “Mineral Site Activity Chart” below to see what to expect during each season.
|
 |
MINERAL SITE - ACTIVITY CHART
Early Spring - Heavy consumption of minerals by does carrying fawns, and bucks building up mineral reserves needed in new antler growth after their antler drop.
Spring - Heavy consumption of minerals by lactating does, and by bucks using up mineral reserves growing new racks.
Summer - Consumption of minerals by does and bucks to aid them in many areas, including digestion and antler development.
Fall - Consumption continues into the fall as deer begin to prepare for cold weather.
Winter - Consumption continues throughout the winter period. However, during the rut, doe consumption will increase and buck consumption will decrease. Mineral sites are often used by rutting bucks as a scrape and are heavily marked as they look for the does that have frequented the site. |

| When to use Rack-Up Deer Development Nutrients: Deer seek sources of minerals for different reasons. Many times deer will frequent a mineral site out of habit and other times they come ready to consume seemingly as much as they can find. The key to providing a good source of minerals is consistency, so put Rack-Up out immediately into your mineral sites to start patterning deer to your sites right now. Rack-Up has Deer Cane added to it to lure deer into your new mineral sites all year long as deer seek out the source of an odor they instinctively need. |
